Perform 2D+ Measurement

Introduction

2D+ measurement is eKare’s proprietary technology that measures wound length, width, and area directly on iPhone without needing reference markers. This technology is available only on iPhones with dual-lens camera which include:

• iPhone 7Plus
• iPhone 8Plus
• iPhone X

The 2D+ technology provides a more robust measurement and eliminates many of the shortcomings seen on 2D measurement with reference marker.

Caution: inSight® 2D+ was designed to measure human skin only. Do not use on other materials.

Steps

• Open the inSight iPhone app and choose the correct patient and wound. Click the camera icon on bottom left corner then select “New measurement”.

• When first opening the measurement module, you may see a lot of “noise” on the screen. This means the camera does not have sufficient data to perform measurement; the cross-hair is red and the capture button is hidden.

• To minimize the “noise”, keep the wound in focus, follow on-screen prompt and adjust imaging distance (optimal imaging distance is about 25-30cm).
• When the image is of sufficient quality, the cross-hair will turn green and the capture button will appear.

• Click the camera button in the middle to capture the photo.
