- To begin measuring a wound, select the “Measure Wound” button on the wound summary screen. Make sure that you have the correct wound selected in the wound selector.
- The image capture window will indicate the optimal distance between the camera and wound. The image capture window displays a ‘Too Close’ and ‘Too Far’ warning to guide the user.
- Move the camera closer to or further away from the wound till the square reticle is green in color. At the optimal imaging, photograph the wound as clearly and closely as possible. Hold the device parallel to the wound bed when measuring the wound. This ensures the inSight can capture all the necessary information. Use the camera button to the left or right to capture the photo.
- If you are not satisfied with the picture you took, you may choose to retake the picture by selecting the ‘X’ top-left corner to discard and retake a new image.
2D / 3D measurement based on distance
Due to intrinsic of the Structure Sensor, depth measurement accuracy is dependent on imaging distance. At close distances where there is insufficient 3D information, the system defaults to 2D measurement. This is indicated with a ‘2D’ label on the capture buttons.
Distance: 0-35 cm | no measurement | Distance: 35-45 cm | 2D |

Distance: 45-55 cm | Optimal 3D | Distance: 55-100 cm | sub-optimal 3D |
